"The Hell After High" installation translates Johann Sebastian Bach's BWV 1001: Presto movement for solo violin to a heavy metal guitar; from music embedded with a religious value going straight to the demonic land of reverie. This installation was developed for the Aural Cultures exhibition curated by Jim Drobnick at the Walter Phillips Gallery in Banff, Canada, "to utilize and critique the cultural practices of sound" and incorporates black light fluorescent tubes, four speakers, black light painted text and a whole lot of volume. |
